Our Aim
The YMI worship team is committed to ushering the local church into the 'Holy of Holies' which is the manifest presence of God; committed to seeing the worship of our Heavenly Father and the Lord Jesus Christ expressed in the earth realm as in heaven.
The Worship Ministry exists to glorify God by creating an atmosphere of passionate worship of our Father as one body with one voice through one Spirit.
Achieving the Aim
The Worship Teams aim is achieved through music, playing different instruments, interpretive dance, psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. We seek to lead others to God’s manifest presence through a transforming interactive worship experience in corporate praise and worship. Worship is not simply a mental acceptance of theological ideas, but rather a spiritual reality expressed physically in our actions through the love of God.
Genuine commitment is of utmost importance and worship team members must be born again (1 Peter 1:23) and be continually filled with the Holy Spirit, (Ephesians 5:18). The overriding quality of worship team members is humility (James 4:10) and worshipping God out of a pure heart.
The worship team members should be disciplined, faithful, reliable (Proverbs 25:19) and be actively involved in YMI church activities. They are required to consistently attend weekly rehearsals, are expected to be focused and letting nothing interfere with their service.
All age groups starting with the youth, can be part of the team. Despite different levels of skills, musicians should apply their God given skills and talents with excellence. Worship is not for professionals but God honours the discipline of additional practice and preparation. “Kenaniah the Head Levite was in charge of the singing; that was his responsibility because he was skillful at it,” (1 Chronicles 15:22)
